Week 3
This week was busy, especially in the homework department.
I have been doing a lot of thinking on what I should do my $100 challenge. I had it narrowed down to doing bath bombs and cheesecakes. I learned that cheesecakes are a nonexempt food for the State of Alaska under the Cottage Food Factsheet. Exempt foods would be cookies, cakes, jams/jellies, etc. If it needs refrigeration, it basically doesn’t fall under the exemption. There are a lot of baking things that I could do and I thought about doing a different product each week. Maybe I could do Oatmeal buttercream pies (they don’t require refrigeration!) one week, and then cinnamon rolls the next week. I really wanted to do something with baking, but I think I am being pulled in a different direction. I am going to do bath bombs. I could do different varieties, and I know they would be enjoyable. I am not limited to only my friends and neighbors here in Wasilla, Alaska. I could mail my products to other people if they wanted them. Of course, that is another expense on my part. I will be able to figure it out more within a few days.
I had to do two timed quizzes. I really thought I knew the material. I guess we will see. The timed quizzes really gave me some anxiety and basically made me lose my mind. I had a hard time thinking about anything else besides the time counting down! I hope this is an area that will be better as the semester goes on. I got everything done this week, and I am grateful for that! Here’s to week 4 coming up!
