Week 4
This week has been a good
week. I think I am actually starting to come up with a schedule for all my
class work to make things run smoothly. The schedule isn’t perfect, but I’m not
rushing to get things done before the due date! I think I learned a lot this
week in terms of business plans. The business plans that I wrote aren’t
perfect, and likely need some adjusting, but I am learning. I have been reading
the book we are required to read, and I am finding that quite interesting. I am
even enjoying the book, it is making sense to me and I have found that the
first 6 chapters have kept my attention really well. The most interesting thing
that I learned was that the entrepreneur, manager, and technician cannot be the
same person. There needs to be different, trusted individuals in these positions
that the entrepreneur chooses. Before this class, I would’ve thought that those
three things were the same.
I did a business plan for
my bath bomb business. I hope I did it right. I came up with some pricing and am
exploring how I should advertise. My best bet is by getting on my own personal
social media page and telling my friends about it. I’m exploring the
possibility of shipping my product to friends that don’t live in my local area.
I have been looking at the ingredients and molds that I will have to get to make
my product. Amazon has some good prices and I will probably use them to get
those ingredients. I am excited to get going to see if I can get the $100
dollars for this challenge to donate to Kiva. I have also been considering who I
could ask as an investor in this small business venture. I have talked to a lot
of my friends and family about the challenge, I just need to see who is willing
now.
